My MP is Ben Lake, of Plaid Cymru for Ceredigion. He's great. I voted for him. We've had a lot of great correspondence already.

Dear Ben
me again!
Again, so many thanks for your work!!
Ben. I'm concerned about what the government is up to. I'm concerned about the Review of Administrative Law and threats to Judicial Review. I want to protect Judicial Review. Please will you work to protect Judicial Review?
I'm basically horrified by the recent Overseas Operations Bill, the Covert Human Intelligence Bill, the labour whippings.
I want us to lead with instruments of peace and integrity. I want that to be grounded firmly in law. I want all representatives of the state to act with the highest concern for peace and integrity. As we know, violence begets violence, and laws making violence easier are dangerous. I find them highly concerning.
I'm troubled by the Government's series of bills which my friend summarised as "a degradation of integrity in the spirit of, 'we're going to do whatever we want, and we're going to have power over you.'"
It's not the kind of country I want to live in.
While I think about how we embolden progressive power in formal politics,
I'm sure you will! But just in case, please will you oppose any threats to the checks and balances of a healthy democracy, and work to help us be a peaceful safe country, at home and in the world?
I'm sure you understand exactly what I'm talking about, but FYI, I dug around on all this, put it together, wrote a blog post about it and have just shared it on social media.
Many thanks for your work and public service,
Yours sincerely,
Briony
